Communicable Disease Plan

As mandated by the Provincial Health Officer, as well as the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, Cortes Island Massage Therapy will be adapting COVID-19 protocols in an effort to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

Protective Protocols

We will require that all patients are free from any signs or symptoms of communicable disease on the day of their appointment. Hand washing or sanitizing will be required upon entry to the clinic. Tissues are available throughout the clinic should you need to touch your face or cover a sneeze.

The PHO recommends continued mask use for those individuals 12 years of age and older who are not yet fully vaccinated. I will continue to wear a mask during treatment and I ask that you do as well. Masks are available at the clinic should you forget yours.

We ask that patients arrive on time and unaccompanied for their appointment. Exceptions can be made for those requiring extra assistance or for young children who are more comfortable with a parent present. Should you choose to come into the waiting room prior to your appointment time, chairs are placed to allow for social distancing.

In addition to the above considerations, I will ensure that I too am in good health when treating clients, continue rigorous and regular hand washing and will increase ventilation during working hours.

Cleaning and Sanitization

Enhanced cleaning protocols remain in place. Frequently touched surfaces such as chairs, computers, phones, bathroom door handles, faucets etc. will be disinfected regularly. Between each patient, your therapist will disinfect all surfaces that may have come into contact with other clients including: chairs, face rests, massage tables, hooks, doorknobs, light switches as well as their oil bottles, stools and tablets.

I  care for your health and well-being and will do my utmost to keep the risk low. I appreciate your patience and understanding as I continue to adjust to changing recommendations and requirements. Should you have any questions, concerns or feedback please do not hesitate to address them with one of our therapists.

Warm regards,

Sarah Robinson, RMT
